CNC Programmer II
Creates computer numerical control (CNC) programs which direct automated machining equipment to cut and shape custom parts to specifications. Interprets design specifications, plans detailed machining sequence and operations, and translates directions into numerical language. Tests programs to ensure output meets specifications. Generates job schedule sheets, drawings, and process routings for the CNC Operator. Continuously works to improve programming through the application of new technologies and techniques. Sets up and operates CNC machinery as needed. At a level 2, the work includes large/complex projects and/or projects requiring advanced technical abilities. May provide direction to less experienced programmers. Original thought and problem solving is expected with ability to foresee difficulties and take proactive measures to prevent project delays. Sets up and operates manual lathes, drills, mills, and grinders to cut and shape custom parts to specifications. Interprets design specifications and translates into plan for machining. Calculates location of cut, speed of feed, and amount of material to remove. Selects tools and materials, plans the sequence of cutting and finishing operations. Specials Design Engineer II
Concepts and develops detailed designs for standard tooling, custom automated machines, automated cell, and custom workstations. Includes the design of structure, layout, and all mechanical components. Is responsible for the design of the pneumatic assembly. Also responsible for specifying electrical components outside of the electrical cabinet, including sensors and vision systems. Creates and maintains necessary machine documentation including machine specifications, drawings, models and renderings. Develops good customer relations to ensure the machine design results in a satisfactory machine that produces an acceptable part for the customer. Controls Engineer II
Designs and specifies control, motion and electrical systems to meet customer expectations for cost quality and delivery. Orders electrical, controls and fluid power components and supplies. Programs machine controls. Debugs and optimizes machine controls. Updates schematics and assists in documenting machine operations, services machine control systems at customer site when needed.
