The individual in this role will have the opportunity to develop and implement the electrical and controls portions of fully custom equipment in the plastic joining and handling world. Strong candidates will demonstrate the ability to present technical information to internal and external customers from an industry leader’s perspective, follow structured workflows, and manage multiple projects.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Develops and implements controls design, electrical design, and project plans.
  • Programs and debugs PLCs.
  • Collaborates with mechanical design team, machine build team, and service team throughout project timeline.
  • Interfaces with customers at machine run off.

What You’ll Bring

  • Electrical engineering degree or related science (or equivalent experience)
  • PLC programming and debugging required – Allen Bradley and/or Siemens.
  • AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN experience preferred.
  • Confident, professional communication skills
  • Team-oriented – eager and willing to work in a cross-functional capacity.

Do you flourish in an environment where you can work independently and learn something new every day? Is solving complex problems with machines your specialty? Then this role is perfect for you! Extol, Inc. is looking for a motivated, adaptable Service Engineer! This position is responsible for installing and servicing custom automation machines. Strong candidates will demonstrate the ability to dig deeper into problems to fully understand and solve the root cause of issues and quickly bounce back when unexpected setbacks occur.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Installs and supports custom automation at customer locations.
  • Debugs and optimizes machine controls, problem solves mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Troubleshoots machine issues, identifies root causes, and continuously improves systems, methods, and processes.
  • Provides technical training on equipment.
  • Documentation of work completed using service reports and through updating equipment schematics and programs

What You’ll Bring

  • 3-5 years of experience in an automated machinery or plastics assembly environment
  • Experience with PLC and HMI programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • Understanding of third-party component hardware and software (i.e., color sensors, screw qualifiers, barcode readers, etc.).
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to plan and complete work details.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel extensively to customer locations

Are you passionate about designing custom automation equipment and tooling in the manufacturing space? Are you looking for a position where you can have ownership of your designs, use problem solving skills, and influence your design result throughout the life cycle of a project?   Extol, Inc. is looking for an experienced, dynamic, and driven Mechanical Design Engineer!  This position will collaborate across teams to ensure a great internal team and customer experience. Strong candidates will have experience with custom design equipment, strong technical communication, and mechanical problem-solving aptitude. 

The Ideal Candidate 

  • Creates high-quality designs based on outlined customer concepts. 
  • Provides leadership and guidance within the scope of the design project to cross functional teams to ensure integrity of design is maintained. 
  • Works independently on designs while being able to collaborate with different stakeholders using excellent written and verbal skills. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn Extol product and custom technologies quickly to promote and produce elite custom automation equipment in the plastic manufacturing industry. 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s in engineering preferred 
  • Experience with 3D software, SolidWorks preferred. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design role (custom automation preferred) 
  • Eagerness to collaborate and be team oriented.  
  • Strong ability to communicate and problem solve effectively throughout the design process.

  • Provides hands on support to cross-departmental teams.
