Module Selection

There are three different InfraStake models available. Below are some of the differences between each model.

Model IS32

  • Latest InfraStake technology
  • Analog punch position sensing (+/- 0.05 mm)
  • 100 W tungsten halogen lamp
  • 32 mm diameter module
  • Max boss size: Ø9.0 x 12.7 mm

Model IS125

  • Original InfraStake technology
  • Digital punch position sensing (+/- 0.5 mm)
  • 100 W tungsten halogen lamp
  • 32 mm diameter module
  • Max boss size: Ø6.4 x 9.5 mm

Model ISM20

  • Smallest InfraStake technology
  • Digital punch position sensing (+/- 0.5 mm)
  • 35 W tungsten halogen lamp
  • 20 mm diameter module
  • Max boss size: Ø3.0 x 4.0 mm
Note: InfraStake is designed for plastic assembly, specifically staking. It should be sized appropriately for the application.

Control Selection

An InfraStake integration package comes with one of the following control options.

PM400 Power Supply

Panel-mounted power supply used with integrator-provided PLC. Provides power for up to four InfraStake modules along with individual lamp current monitoring for burnout detection.

PM400 SPECIFICATIONS

PSC Power Supply & Controller

Combination process controller and power supply in a 6U rack-mount enclosure with integrated or remote HMI. Controls the InfraStake process for up to 24 modules. Includes lamp current monitoring for burnout detection.

Available Accessories

Z-Axis Cylinder

Pneumatic cylinder ensures consistent, independent, module clamping in multi-point applications. Can be used with modules mounted at 10 degrees or less.

Z-Axis Spring

Spring ensures consistent, independent, module clamping in multi-point applications. Cannot be used with angled modules.

X-Y Mount

Allows for isolated adjustment of the position of the module in the X and Y directions. Can be used with Z-axis cylinder or spring.

Power Converter

Converts voltage from 24 V to 10 V and provides power to the position sensor on an IS32 InfraStake module.

Full Stroke Sensor

Indicates a successful stake by detecting that the punch reaches full stroke.

Boss Presence Sensor

Detects the presence of a boss by sensing the punch reaches a set position on the top of the boss prior to staking.

Low Pressure Boss Sensing Kit

Pressure regulator and shuttle valve to allow for a low punch force to check the height of the pre-staked boss.

Dual Flow Cooling Air Kit

Pressure regulator, filter, and shuttle valve to set and control cooling air.

Air Manifold

Distributes cooling air and punch air to up to 8 InfraStake modules.

End-User Kit

Includes polish and non-abrasive cloth for cleaning reflective surfaces and flow meter for measuring cooling air flow rates.

Concentrators

There are many different InfraStake concentrator designs available. Each concentrator is designed to fit a specific range of applications. Our design team selects the concentrator that will best suit your application.
