Sales Engineer

Extol, Inc. is looking for a driven Sales Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have solution-selling experience, strong attention to detail, and a proven ability to close business. Creating an excellent customer experience is essential in this role.

Strong candidates will demonstrate the ability to actively listen in order to understand customer needs, identify the right solution, educate the customer on why Extol solutions are the right fit, and foster a positive, long-term partnership. This role is responsible for developing business opportunities from leads that are already deemed qualified, meaning if cold calling isn’t your favorite thing to do, you’re in luck!

Job Essentials:

  • Follow up on qualified leads and close business.
  • Handle house accounts.
  • Probe to understand clients’ needs, develop the right solution, and gain customer commitment.
  • Utilize Extol resources to aid in and promote specifying Extol proprietary technology.
  • Ability to forecast accurately.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • 3+ years of technical sales experience
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be persuasive and to clearly understand and communicate complex technical information.
  • Ability to quickly analyze, compare, and interpret detailed information to uncover root issues.
  • Extensive experience in solution and value selling.
